Flamgard dampers on site at Russia’s largest petrochemical complex
Flamgard Calidair’s blast dampers are receiving yet more international interest as they are specified at the incredibly-named ZapSibNeftekhim deep hydrocarbon conversion project in Siberia.
At the heart of the ZapSibNeftekhim development will be an ethylene cracker unit with a capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of ethylene, 500,000 tonnes of propylene and 100,000 tonnes of butane- butylene fraction (BBF) every year.
The 460ha Russian project is valued at $9.5bn and has thousands of workers currently constructing its many complex constituent components. As with any facility dealing in hydrocarbons – especially on this kind of scale – blast risks are a serious consideration, which is why Flamgard Calidiar’s blast dampers have been selected to reduce these risks.
“Our blast dampers are independently tested for their blast performance and are being used in key projects around the globe,” commented Flamgard Calidair’s managing director Steve Edwards. “We’re proud to see our designs gain international acceptance and we realise that customers choose us not only on price, but on the quality of our products and the diligence and courtesy of our customer services.”
Flamgard Calidair is supplying the blast dampers to Tobolsk Polymer, one of the world’s leading polypropylene producers, which is part of the Sibur company in charge of the whole development.Back to News/Blog
